SPATIAL THOUGHTS
2024
During a Jacquard weaving residency at Textile Centre Haslach, the research project Spatial Thoughts was set in motion.
Threedimensional structures and textures were developed to create large-scale textile installations to combine the field of 3D weaving and spatial design. The outcomes are woven columns that absorb sound and invite touch and interaction.
Leftover wool yarns were provided by the textile company Rohi. Due to the changing and limited amounts of yarn, color gradients were developed to use up as much waste yarn as possible. This provides a way of thinking to get rid of the industrial waste of textile companies.
Materials: leftover wool, elastane, tencel
My participation was funded by the Swedish Grants Arts Committee and Culture Moves Europe.
