WOVEN BLOCKS

2022

In collaboration with Jojo Shone

Woven Blocks is a modular textile system that invites participants to interact in a collaborative activity, design spaces, and explore ways of combining the blocks for different purposes and outcomes. The modules are 3D-woven and filled with textile waste that is produced as a side effect in the weaving process. The modular system is intended to be re-used many times: the blocks can be stuffed, assembled to a structure, re-assembled, and eventually emptied to be stored or transported for their next use.

Materials: cotton, wool

The project was exhibited at the interactive exhibition Secrets of Making #3 at the TextielMuseum Tilburg.

This project was developed during the Advanced Textile Program at TextielMuseum Tilburg, NL

My participation was funded by the Swedish Grants Arts Committee
